Also, please enjoy a couple photos of the Lorraine Motel as part of the Martin Luther King Memorial at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. We chose to break up our drive back from Houston in July 2023 and stay in Memphis so we could visit the memorial. The museum was closed the day we visited, but there is still so much to see outside.

There is a memorial wreath on the motel room balcony railing where Martin Luther King, Jr. was shot. The museum keeps two vehicles parked at the Lorraine Motel to replicate the exact vehicles parked at the scene at the time of the assassination. It is like time is frozen there.

Truly moving, and most definitely worth the trip!
